Final Summer Post

This blog has helped me develop my company because with each weeks post it made me think and develop a important part of my company which would make it successful. For example if i didnt need to use inputs i would never have thought of the idea for the youtube videos. Each weeks topics gave insight in how a high tech company works and what technological ideas they need to think about when developing an idea.

I have never blogged before so this experience was pretty cool. You hear about different blogs and what not on tv like the Wikileaks and I was never really into it. However after doing this class I have recently following and reading all different types of blogs, from music blogs to financial blogs.

Week 7-- Blog Review

There is one website that i visit everyday its Goodmusicallday.com. I never thought it was a blog but after going through this project this past month i realized it is. The founder is Tim Weber he is a 20 year old student that loves music and believes the sound of music can change someone forever.
Everyday Tim and his crew go onto this website and upload new songs that were just released to gain popularity. Most of the songs are mixtapes,, these are songs made by up and coming artists. You can listen to the music and download it as well. When you download it, it goes into you downloads folder as a mp3 and you can click and drag it into itunes.
They just dont post these songs the give a little info on the song/artist saying where they got the beat or lyrics from what past songs they have made or when there next albums coming out. This blog is very addictive and i cant go a day without checking it out and listening the to the new music posted.

Week 6- OS and Protection

My company is a web based company and the operating system that we use is very important. We will need to multitask and be able to perform a lot of tasks. Most likely we would use the Windows 7 operating system.

With my company we will be using a lot of files and confidential materials that we cannot have stolen. So when we delete our files we will be defragging our hard drives every other week to maximize security.

Also with all the identity theft online and how easy it is for people to get your information we will use PayPal for our transactions. It’s a secured way to pay and receive payments that will help both our customers and us. The protection of our company is very important and necessary to us.

Week 5- Audio

When you have a company that is strictly website based the main expense of the company is paying for the servers. The more information I have on the website the better quality servers I will need. So with dealing with sounds and images the lower the quality the less bits and bytes that it will take up.

Like I said in the past I want to do a weekly review of the stockmarket and have one of the geniuses do some sort of (podcast). Since its just going to be talking no singing and no beats the file size will be tiny saving the company a lot of money and time. We will also be able to use are left over space to make the website look very professional and appealing to the customers.

However since we will be expecting a lot of traffic and having a lot of people submitting information to us we will need to be backing up gigabytes of data and to do so safely we will need a lot of external hard drive and possibly use the cloud for some storing.

Week 4 - Input RFID

My company will need a lot of input devices to help aid our customer. The stock market uses a lot of graphs and if we use a scanner we can input graphs onto our website. This will make it easier for our customers to understand each graph.

Another input device I need is a video camera. I want to upload videos onto YouTube and a video camera is a necessity. These videos will allow us to share information. The better quality video camera the more enjoyable it will be for our customers to win.

Can’t really use a RFID chip because my idea is a website. However I would stick RFID chips to all of my computers and other electronics. This will make sure that none of our equipment will get lost or stolen if it was to be stolen we could find it.

Week 3- Hardware

My company will need a lot of computers. We will be storing a lot of information about different companies so we can provide precise data to our customers. Since we will be storing all of these files we will need a lot of hard drives and external hard drives so we can constantly back up files.

Also since we will be expecting a lot of question we will need plenty of RAM so we can have our Genius’s answering multiple questions at once. Also I was thinking that we should have once a week a 5 min session of what occurred during the week. This would be via video.

Since we want our videos to be played on all OS we will use Flash for now. As time goes on we will use HTML5. We will also put a couple of our weekly reviews on YouTube so it can help us advertise our company and attract more viewers.

Week 2- Understanding charts

Since my idea involves people’s money and informs them about certain articles describing to them what they mean, it is very important that the investors know how much money they have available. A great way to do this is through the use of Microsoft Excel.

Excel is a very efficient way to keep track of investors money and will help them aide where they allocate their money. My company will show people what certain companies are saying when the customers ask us question about the stocks overview and quarterly statements. Most of the time it has to do with charts and where the company allocated their money for the quarter, knowing excel will help us fully understand them.

Also since my website will have Genius’s answering questions and others answering them as well we will need to have two very distinct colors that will show the customers who is answering their questions. For example if its a genius answering the question it will be in Blue, and if it is a random person it will be written in Red.
